Bt Bell 80d Wiring Diagram


i need to fit a BT Loud External 80d Telephone Bell Ringer in my and bt wont come out and fit it for us,it has two orange wires in the bell and. Telephone Sounders & Bells; Telephone Bell External.

Solved: I might be having to install an external bell in the near future, probably an 80D. Can anyone please clarify some items for me?

This product has a REN of 1. Feb 25, · I brought a BT bell today and wired that up easy enough, but in the telephone socket there was only wires in numbers 1, 2, 5 & 6 and the colours in 2 and 5 were the blue and white cables not orange and white.
I understand the bell needs a ringing capacitor. Does it have one fitted or will I need to wire it from the master socket? If I need to wire a capacitor feed from the master socket does it matter which terminal 2 or 5 the other side of the bell from the Ringer wire terminal 3 is connected to? The instructions on the sales site say it isn’t polarity sensitve but knowing my luck there’ll be an issue! The bell will need to be connected to terminal 3 and 5, it will utilise the capacitor in the main socket. I’m not sure of the setup yet I’m on site tomorrow. If you are not connecting it into the main socket just ensure that there is a wire on terminal 3 of the extenstion socket that is coming from the main socket, also the wiring to the bell is not polarity sensitive. If I connect one to the 2 rather then the 3 connector in the garage socket, I get life (ting) from the bell and a tiny spark as the wire touches the 2 connector but the line then appears engaged if I phone from my mobile.
