Prepare Stepper Motor Wires.
First you’ll trim the excess wire from each stepper motor and strip each wire of each stepper motor (16 in total). You’ll want about.Thank you AlanDavis, I appreciate the diagram!
I noticed it posted in at least one other thread but it was still not clear how to apply it directly to the X-Carve. I was laboring under the assumption that the router was going to be tied into the power supply like the stock spindle would have been.
The gShield is marked “X,” “Y,” and “Z.” Wire the stepper cable according to the markings on the shield and order your wires (from left to right) black, green, white, red. Check out this diagram for clarification.

Black Wire (Laser GND) to GND on X Controller; Here is the wiring diagram for the newer machine: Laser Commands Using the pre-loaded GRBL from Inventables. The newest controllers coming out with the X Carve come pre-loaded with GRBL , which will have our laser code in it already.
Dec 01, · Except for the simplest of circuits I find Fritzing diagrams do be totally unreadable, mostly I think because there’s no pin information but also because the physical layout of a circuit is seldom the best way to document what it’s supposed to do.
